Iodine is utilized by every hormone receptor in the body. The absence of iodine causes a hormonal dysfunction that can be seen with practically every hormone inside the body. T3 is activated immediately which energizes the cells but the T4 is inactive until it reaches its destination or other parts of the body which is dependent upon proper circulation. All the blood in the body passes through the thyroid gland every 17 minutes; during this 17-minute passage the gland’s secretion of iodine kills weak germs that may have gained entry into the blood through an injury to the skin, the lining of nose or throat, or through absorption of food from the digestive tract.
Major symptoms of iodine deficiency are type II diabetes , (has to do with the iodine Tyrosine receptors to utilize insulin) hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, fibrocystic disease, fibrocystic breast disease, breast cancer, cancer in general, intestinal dysboisis, reduced cellular metabolism, infertility, obesity and prostate cancer. As well as Dry hair, Skin, and Eyes, the lack of iodine cause the inability to sweat properly, a precursor to cancer.
Two Major Thyroid Disorders – Hashimoto’s and Graves Disease. But the unseen disorders are most cancers, brain fog, fatigue etc. Proper utilization of iodine has to do with the interaction of hydrogen peroxide with thyroperoxidase (TPO). When the body is deficient in iodine the body will struggle to absorb magnesium, selenium as with the vitamin A & D especially. Vitamin A is required for DNA and RNA synthesis (gene transcription), and new cell growth. Magnesium ions are what controls Polymerase & the RNA strand in DNA to Protein synthesis.
Zinc and copper are required in adequate form to convert the T4 (inactive form) to T3 (active form) which needs to be utilized by the cell for iodine to be effective. Just because a blood test shows adequate supply of TSH and T4 or T3, but the temperature is below 97.6 in the morning, no sweating, cancer etc., the body is not utilizing T3 in the cell properly. Let alone the lack of magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium chloride, zinc the major buffering agents of alkalization.
The enzyme which is required for proper utilization of iodine in the cell is CoQ10, (which the cell receptors needs to be stimulated with Vitamin C) which is made by the body when it has adequate supply of selenium. One of selenium’s main functions is to keep hydrogen peroxide in the cell reduced to H2O after it oxidizes iodide. Meaning, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production is essential for facilitating the oxidation of iodide to iodine in the cell. When hydrogen peroxide with its interrelation with thyroperoxidase (TPO) is overproduced can create anti-TPO which attacks and destroys the thyroid tissue causing the autoimmune Hashimoto’s disease. When selenium is deficient, it can impair this defense mechanism. Also the body produces hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase in search for iodine when the body is deficient which damages the tissue.
It is iodinated lipids such as g – Iodalactone, which regulates and promotes Apoptosis in the cell. Meaning, cancer cells grow out of control, the controlling mechanism of cell suicide (apoptosis) has failed due to cell malfunction. Since the body is deficient in iodine, the cell loses the ability to govern itself, to destroy itself, when it becomes cancerous.
The other major problem is the high quantities of Chloride, Fluoride, and Bromide in our diets which are very close in the chemical structure of iodine. These halogens attaches to the thyroid receptors replacing iodine when it is weak. Causing many disorders which have other names of disease located in different regions of the body. Also these halogens poison the enzymes responsible for the utilization of iodine.
Bromide is found today in most commercial breads, (brominated vegetable oil) hot tubs, gatorade, sodas or most citrus flavored drinks. It is a dangerous chemical which needs to be avoided. Proper Iodine and its mineral support with Vitamin D can be a powerful force against disease, especially cancer.
Fluoride binds very easily to aluminium, which stimulates G-proteins which are located on the cells for cell communication This reaction created cells to increase cancer cell growth by 25% (Japanese studies of fluoridation). Fluoride removes zinc levels in the body, especially from the brain which controls over 300 enzyme reactions for normal functions.
